The free version works immediately up to 200 videos. A license key unlocks unlimited indexing offline.
Single-video playback works without setup. Manual Tiles, Random Viewing, and Video Wall use mpv.
pview is code-signed, but a brand-new app hasn't built up reputation with Apple's Gatekeeper or Microsoft's SmartScreen yet, so you may see a caution the first time you open it. This is normal for new independent software and fades as more people install it.
You can verify any download against the SHA-256 checksum shown above.
Single-video playback works out of the box. Multi-window viewing (Manual Tiles, Random Viewing, and Video Wall) uses mpv, a free open-source player. The first time you open a tiled view, pview helps you get it installed:
brew install mpvwinget install mpvYou only need this once, and only for multi-window viewing.
